I can't remember who I heard it from, but it was fairly recent... it was during a talk or in a classroom or something like that. But they said something like, "What you get out of something depends on what you put into it." A concept like that should be obvious for things like, say, gardening, homework, a relationship, etc. But they applied it to prayer, scripture study, church attendance, etc. That really made me think. Personally, I do my best to do those things and to do them often, but I don't always pay attention the way I should. So I started thinking and praying about what I could do to to get more out of those things and to grow more spiritually.
That's when I got the idea for this blog. Many of us have heard that it's a good idea to write down thoughts and impressions, but if we just write them down and then forget about them, that doesn't help us much either. So, I decided I'd put the impressions I get in a place that can be easily organized and referred to later. And as an added bonus, it's easily shared with others! So, when I'm listening to a talk or studying the scriptures and something jumps out at me, I'll write it down, and then I'll try to remember to talk about it here. I think this is going to be not only insightful, but fun! I hope anyone who reads it also enjoys it!
